Dear Rotary Friends,

Time flies so quickly and we are already in Advent the pre Christimas time, when we meet with friends, go to benefit concerts, sell mulled wine or Christmas punch all to help those who are not so lucky and do not have so much as we do.

This is family month in our Rotary calendar its a month in which we remember our family ties and relationships, as well as the wonderful fellowship in our big Rotary family. Its a month in which we invite our nearest and dearest to many lovely events, so we can also bring them into the activities of Rotary life.

December is also a club month, because you elect your future president for the Rotary year: 2016- 2017 and you place this information into the Rotary International database (please send a copy of this information to our District Secretary, Ota Kovar: ota.kovar@seznam.cz), as well as also placing on the RI database those members, whom you have elected to Club Board positions for the Rotary year 2015-2016. Please don’t forget the important dates of 31.12.2014 by which your Club will have had its election! And 31.1.2015, by which you will have informed both RI and the District. This will maintain good communications by each club with RI as well as with the District! Attached is a helpful translation of the New Invoice Process a reminder of the new Club Membership Dues Invoice from RI from 1.1.2015.

I sincerely invite all future Club Presidents and Secretaries, to PETS President Elect Training Seminar - in Olomouc on 14 15.3.2015; DGE Vladimir Adamek will send out an invitation and registration form at a later date.

At this time of Club elections, its a good opportunity to think about a potential candidate for District Governor from amongst your members for the Rotary year 2017-2018 and Ihave named a Nomination Committee in line with the Manual of Procedures of RI, with chairman PDG František Ryneš. The Nomination Committee will prepare a timetable, which will be issued with the following DG letter in January 2015.

At Christmas time, we are more sensitive to, and think more deeply about and are more aware of our nearest and dearest and also of our surroundings. It is a time to ponder on what we have achieved, what makes us happy and also what makes us serve others and do good in the future. Many Rotary Clubs in the Czech Republic have committed themselves to contributing financially to the Bone Marrow Foundation. Please remember this committment, as you read the attached letter from Rotarian Jan Machálek from RC Poděbrady, who, along with others, gives his time and energy to this Foundation.

One of our Avenues of Service is to the Young Generation, and I am very happy to be able to attach to my monthly letter an invitation to young people to attend a great event RYLA, which for many years has been organised by our Rotarian Zdenek Michalek. Please don’t forget to find appropriate young people, potential leaders, and invite them to RYLA it is a wonderful worthy event.

Dear Rotarian friends, thank you for our work together this half year, thank you for all your good deeds and activities for others, and I wish you a wonderful Christmas, full of love, happiness and family joy.

Thank you to everyone who has helped to implement so many projects, and for all the young people’s lives you have changed!

I wish you a very happy New Year and all the best, peace, hope, health and happiness in 2015
